ADVANCED STATIC CONTROL ESD APPAREL

Vi-Gard® I, Vi-Gard® II, and Ultra-Gard

State-of-the-art fabrics with built-in static control, are available in a full line of ESD clothing from Vidaro.

- Vi-Gard I blends 65% polyester, 34% cotton sheeting and 1%
  carbon-modified nylon yarn
- Vi-Gard II is a blend of 97% polyester warp knit and 3%
  carbon-suffused nylon yarns
- Ultra-Gard is 87% polyester/13% carbon

Whichever advanced static control fabric you select, you get quality ESD clothing for today's critical test, assembly, packaging, QA and QC applications that keeps on working, even after many launderings.

Controlling static is cruicial
Static electricity can spell trouble. In the laboratory, in manufacturing, in assembly and packaging areas, people can generate and retain static charges up to 35,000 volts - more than enough to damage or degrade nearby sensitive electronic components, devices and semiconductors. This is especially true in low-humidity areas.

That's why Vidaro uses Vi-Gard static dissipative fabrics for its garments. Along with other static control devices, these advanced static control fabrics provide a first-line defense against product damage.

Vi-Gard garments offer durability, improved color retention and permanent static control properties. These modern permanent-press garments require no topical treatment, so you can wear, handle, and launder them as you would ordinary clothing.

Vidaro Advanced Static Control garments are cool and comfortable, so they may be worn over normal clothing, yet they effectively reduce electrostatic charges to safe levels, eliminating the possibility of arcing from workers to sensitive electronic products.

Vidaro means quality custom features
Vidaro makes clothing that works for you - for your working environment. That means we'll give you exactly what you need - whether it's special sizes, features, fabrics or styles.

If our stock garments aren't exactly what you need, tell us. We'll design in the performance features you're looking for, along with our usual top quality, exacting detail and fullness of pattern.

Vi-Gard® I

A woven 65% polyester, 34% cotton, 1% carbon-modified nylon yarn with a 1/8" grid network pattern. Precure resin finished, Vi-Gard I garments resist wrinkles. Just wash, tumble dry and wear. And Vi-Gard I weighs a scant five ounces/square yard.

Tests performed on Vi-Gard I fabrics at 50% relative humidity and at 70°F produce a surface resistivity of less than 2.6 x 106 -4.8 x 109 ohms/unit square.

Content: 65% polyester, 34% cotton, 1% carbon-modified nylon yarn with a 1/8" grid network pattern
Colors: White (3117), Lt. Blue (3317), Grey (3417), Navy (4317), Royal (6317)
Type: 5 oz. Blend of polyester and cotton sheeting
ESD Properties: Achieved by introducing a nylon grid pattern into the fabric.
Apparent Surface Resistivity: 2.6 x 106ohms/unit square (Test Method AATCC 76)
Decay: 5000 volts to 10% in less than .01 second (Test Method NFPA 1991 para. 9-29.4)
Durability to Washing: Permanent press, resin finished to offer "easy care" characteristics: wrinkle resistance in use and "no-iron" properties when washed. Washing does not significantly affect ESD properties of garments.

Vi-Gard® II

For all assembly and other non-cleanroom uses. A warp knit blend of 97% polyester with 3% carbon-suffused nylon yarns, this Vidaro Advanced Static Control fabric also weighs only four ounces/square yard - light enough for even the most particular worker.

Strict laboratory tests indicate a surface resistivity of 2.0 x 105 ohms/unit square.

Content: 97% polyester, 3% carbon-suffused nylon yarn
Colors: White (31K7), Royal (63K7), (not stock Lt. Blue (33K7)), Navy (43K7))
Type: 4 oz. texturized polyester warp knit
ESD Properties: Achieved by introducing a nylon yarn diamond pattern into the fabric.
Apparent Surface Resistivity: 2.0 x 105 ohms/unit square (Test Method AATCC 76)
Decay: 5000 volts to effective 0 in less than .1 second (Test Method NFPA 1991 para. 9-29.4)
Durability to Washing: Performs up to standards found in quality texturized warp knit fabrics. Appearance, comfort, and breathability are excellent, even after repeated laundering. Absence of steel and cotton fibers eliminates linting problem.

Ultra-Gard

Content: 87% texturized polyester and 13% Shakespeare Conductive Fibers, LLC Resistat™ fiber
Colors: 3167 White, 3367 Lt. Blue, 6367 Royal
Type: 2.3 oz per square yard
ESD Properties: (Carbon-suffused monofilament nylon), knit in grid pattern
Apparent Surface Resistivity: 105 ohms per square with only slight deterioration noticed after 50 launderings. (To maximum of 107)
Static decay: 101C method 5000 volts to 500 in less than 0.1 second

Meets normal FR requirements for polyester fabrics.

Fabric will not crock or bleed off onto other surfaces.

Carbon suffused monofilament nylon is Shakespeare Resistat™ fiber is conductive at 104 and is non-flaking and non-sloughing.

Color fastness: No change 20 hours, slight change 40 hours.

Fabric is lightweight, 40 denier with a unique construction which does not allow easy penetration of dust particles.
